My response in a letter to Senator Dibble–
Senator Dibble –
In May of 2018, Minnesota State Senator Dan Hall introduced an amendment (that passed) proposing schools be allowed to display the words “In God We Trust.” Senator Dibble, it is appalling you suggested using “Allah” in place of “God” – as in “In Allah We Trust.” Senator, how could you take an oath of office trusting in “Allah” knowing “In God We Trust” is our national motto? How can you represent the people of Minnesota while denying and attempting to change their Godly heritage? Minnesota’s Constitution states, Preamble- “We, the people of the state of Minnesota, grateful to God (not Allah) for our civil and religious liberty, and desiring to perpetuate its blessings and secure the same to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution.”
Our Founding Fathers knew the American Revolution could not succeed without their firm “Trust in God.” Many today claim that we are under the Constitution, but not the Declaration of Independence. The truth is they are two different documents but they can never be separated. Our Founders were clear. The Declaration was the foundation on which the structure of the Constitution was framed. John Quincy Adams had this to say about the two documents: “the Declaration of Independence was the platform on which the Constitution of the United States had been erected.”
In the second paragraph of the Declaration, the founders acknowledge the only way to put necessary limitations on our government would be to acknowledge God as the source of our rights – “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
Senator, as a representative in Minnesota government you are to acknowledge our Creator and that the Creator gives the citizens of Minnesota certain unalienable rights that no man or government can take away. Senator, you are to acknowledge government exists to secure the rights of your constituents, rights given to them by their Creator. As an elected representative of our constitutional republic, you are to acknowledge government cannot operate below the just powers of the Creator without the consent of the governed. The last sentence of the Declaration states, “That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it and to institute new government.” In all due respect, I pray that in the next election cycle, the citizens of Minnesota make the changes in the Senate to secure their unalienable (God given) rights.

Our country was founded on the cornerstone of the church, Jesus Christ.
This is clearly indicated by the plans and documents of our Founding Fathers. There are also many quotes to this effect from early patriots, and from court cases! This country’s early schools taught this, and it was preached from the pulpits!
