Put Prayer Back in our Schools

Since the founding of America school children have been allowed to call on the Lord before the start of each school day. However, in 1962 the Supreme Court case of Engle v. Vitale, the Courts ruled to remove voluntary prayer in our schools by striking down this prayer – “Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country.” The Court based their decision that day on zero precedents while 97% of the nation at that time believed in God!

That little prayer allowed children to petition God’s blessings over fellow students, their parents, teachers and their country. A child wanting to pray is an act of obedience to God and He answers and honors those who pray.

The Supreme Court Justices in the Engle v. Vitale case not only violated our children’s First Amendment rights, but Jesus’ own Words and desire, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them” Matthew 19:14.

Prayer is an inalienable right given to our children by God which no man or government can take away. When we allowed prayer to be taken out of our schools, we took away God’s protection and our children are suffering the consequences for it today.

Betsy DeVos is currently the Education Secretary and she wants to bring prayer back into schools. This is a great opportunity to turn things around for our children – but God’s people have to act. For the sake of our children let Secretary DeVos know its time to put prayer back in our schools!  Email: [email protected]  Call Secretary DeVos at (202) 401-1576.
