Biblical Worldview

We all have our own world view which affects the way we live and how we view things should be. America’s culture, our laws and government were established based on a Judeo-Christian world view with the Bible as its source. This historical truth has been forgotten. It’s incredible to think that the Word of God is able to speak into every area of our lives. The Word of God speaks to us about who God is, His nature and character. It speaks about the foundation of ethics, philosophy and science. Most importantly, God’s Word, the Bible, speaks to us about His gift of salvation through His son Jesus Christ.

For decades now, America’s Biblical world view has shifted to a humanistic world view. God’s Word speaks of this in Genesis — you either trust in God or you become a god yourself. Therefore, it’s either God’s Word or man’s word. The conflict in America today is a battle between the Christian worldview of morality verses a secular world view of moral relativism, that man determines truth. We need to return to God’s world view and develop a deep faith that can stand against our culture’s non-Biblical ideas. We should be more sensitive to God’s role in the history of our nation because it gives us reason for optimism.

“All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

Do you have a Biblical worldview? Answer the following questions, based on claims found in the Bible and which George Barna used in his survey:

  • Do absolute moral truths exist?
  • Is absolute truth defined by the Bible?
  • Did Jesus Christ live a sinless life?
  • Is God the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe, and does He still rule it today?
  • Is salvation a gift from God that cannot be earned?
  • Is Satan real?
  • Does a Christian have a responsibility to share his or her faith in Christ with other people?
  • Is the Bible accurate in all of its teachings?

Fact is, only (19%) of all “born again Christians” have a Biblical worldview. The question is what view does your life reflect?
