The Biblical “Right to Bear Arms”

As Christ’s followers, we have a dual citizenship – a temporal one here on earth and our eternal citizenship in heaven. While living and working as temporary citizens on this earth we are called to be Christ’s ambassadors. “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God was making His appeal through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20). As Christ’s ambassadors we are to represent the Gospel and His righteous policies in every area of our lives – social and political. In 2018, Florida Republicans sponsored and passed a bill (SB 7026), which included dangerous “Red Flag Laws,” allowing police to confiscate weapons from law abiding citizens. How did the “body of Christ” respond? They reelected these tyrants! To make matters worse, the Communist Democrats, along with their leader Joe Biden (not my president) are calling for new gun control legislation. Every law passed by these tyrants to restrict a person’s “right to bear arms,” is a direct attack on God, His Word, His church, and the US Constitution!

The right of self-defense is a God-given, natural right for all people, given to us at birth by our Creator. Thomas Jefferson stated, “Government is to declare and enforce only our natural rights and duties and to take none of them from us.” The Second Amendment protects our right of self-defense and is an inalienable right, “which God gave to you, which no inferior power has a right to take away” – Constitution signer John Dickinson.

According to the Bible the “right to bear arms” is a command, requiring men to protect themselves, their possessions, and our nation’s border.  When creating the Second Amendment, our Founding Fathers used Exodus 22:2 “If the thief is caught while breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no bloodguiltiness on his account.” Along with Luke 11:21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed.” Even Jesus knew His disciples would need protection on their journey, He told them, “whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one” Luke 22:36. When Nehemiah and his men were rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall every man “wore his sword at his side” Nehemiah 4:18.

Why are we losing our God given “right to bear arms” to a tyrannical government? The pulpits no longer preach, our schools no longer teach, and the people no longer speak the relevance of God’s Word into our culture! As Christ’s ambassadors, representatives of His Word, we have an obligation to be the “light of truth” to this dark world. We all have a circle of influence. Speak to your children and other family members and friends about the right of self-defense being a God given, natural right. Speak to your pastor about preaching on the biblical right of self-defense. Using God’s Word, inform your representatives (Republicans & Democrats) ANY type of gun legislation is unconstitutional, an attack on your biblical “right to bear arms.”

America is engaged in the greatest spiritual battle since the American Revolution. If you “love your neighbor as yourself,” do not leave them defenseless against these tyrants – arm them with the truth that can set them free – Jesus!

“Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves.” Ezekiel 33:5

One Response to The Biblical “Right to Bear Arms”

  1. June Griffin says:

The Second Article also establishes a citizen militia, something no one wants to talk about because of universal cowardice and brainwashing by ‘news’ media. We are the only church which is sound on this principle and so-called ‘conservative’ groups shun this inalienable fact. This particular article separates the men from the boys, the dedicated from the merchants.
