Where are the kings of America?

The Bible makes reference to kings as being the ultimate governing authority in a nation. In Webster’s 1828 Dictionary, Founding Father Noah Webster reflected those same biblical views in his definition of “king” as “The chief or sovereign of a nation; a man invested with supreme authority over a nation, tribe or country; a monarch. Kings are absolute.” In Daniel 2:21, God spoke through the prophet Daniel: “He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings.” So then you say, if God’s Word speaks truth, why hasn’t He raised up a King in America? According to our Founding Fathers, He has. John Jay, the First Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, wrote in 1793: “The people are the sovereign of this country.” James Madison wrote in Federalist No. 46, 1788: “The ultimate authority… resides in the people alone.”

Once upon a time in America’s Constitutional Republic, “We The People” were the “king”, ruling indirectly, electing representatives who recognize our written constitution and acknowledge God as the source of our laws and inalienable rights.

Today, America’s kings are nowhere to be found, allowing our nation’s foundations of “religion and morality” to be compromised for the sake of tolerance and political correctness. For this reason, many of our government officials today (on both sides of the aisle) no longer acknowledge God or that He gives us certain unalienable rights such as freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, right to life, freedom of speech, self-defense and many others.

My campaign platform is titled “Is there not a cause?” It’s not a political movement but a move of God, to restore Him to His rightful place of recognition in our nation once again. I want to encourage the “kings” of America to rise up once again and defend God’s reputation. If they do not, America will face the same consequences ancient Israel experienced – “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)
