Republicans vs. Democrats – Part 1

During the American Revolution, ministers were named the Black Robe Regiment by the British, referring to the black robes they wore. The British considered Black Robe Ministers a threat because they inspired their congregations with truth, to stand against the tyrannical attacks of the British. Founding Father John Adams declared ministers were the “most conspicuous, the most ardent, and influential” in the “awakening and revival of American principles and feelings” that led to America’s independence. Black Robe Ministers shaped the thinking (i.e. worldview) of Christians to create a system of government that would allow all men “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Black Robe Ministers believed there was nothing in life the Bible did not address. Pastors would boldly proclaim from the pulpits the Word of God regarding government, education, taxes, law, immorality, military, etc.

The mid-term elections are November 6. They are probably the most important elections in American history. As a modern day Black Robe Minister, I have pledged to encourage people to vote with a Biblical worldview for the glory of God and the preservation of our republic. Over the next few weeks I will give Biblical examples on how democratic and republican policies line up Biblically.

Our Founding Fathers created a system of government with the U.S. Constitution as our governing document. The separation of powers is incorporated throughout the Constitution. Isaiah 33:22 declares those powers, “For the Lord is our Judge (judicial branch), The Lord is our Lawgiver (legislative branch), The Lord is our King (executive branch). Jeremiah 17:9 declares the reason for the separation powers, because “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.” Sadly, our system of government is “broken” because justices have ignored the written constitution and its true meaning. They have become a tyrannical oligarchy, being legislators of the law rather than interpreters of the law. Democrats are in favor of appointing justices who will continue in this direction. Republicans favor appointing justices who will judge according to the original intent of constitutional law. On November 6, if you believe God is the great lawgiver vote Republican! Even though I disagree with many of the Republican Party policies, they still embrace more of a Biblical worldview than the Democrats.

If you have a Biblical worldview as did our Founders, please share this information knowing, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)
